This first International Conference focus on the educational challenges provided by individuals with Batten disease (also known as Spielmeyer Vogt disease). Hopefully it is the first in a series of conferences that will take place every three years. Children, adolescents and adults with Batten disease represent a significant challenge to those who are involved in their daily life.

Leading researchers and practitioners from all around the world working in the field of Batten Disease (also called juvenile neural ceroid lipofuscinos, Spielmeyer-Vogt Disease) will present the state of the art and discuss critical issues related to people with Batten disease in the following areas:
